How chemical skin peels work?
Skin peels involve applying and rubbing a non-toxic chemical exfoliation to the skin. The skin peel removes the unwanted top (dead skin) cell layer or layers on the surface. This stimulates the skin to generate new skin cells and increase collagen production to leave a smoother complexion where imperfections are reduced.
Chemical skin peels vary in nature and the type of peeling they result in (superficial/light, medium or deep). The level of penetration, destruction, inflammation and percentage determines the level of peeling. Peels are like a type of controlled burn which results in forming collagen remodelling, resurfacing of the skin and revealing fresh smooth skin. The different peels achieve different results depending on your needs. Results are seen after the first treatment however, continual regeneration of cells over a course of treatments will give optimum results.
